Violet Rae, better known as Violet Lynn, runs to her grandmother when her life is spun completely out of her control. Rae, as we come to know her, is a broken person who runs away from the painful experience that caused her life to flip into chaos.

Cole is the oldest of the 3 kids his drug addicted mother had. He's been raising his little sister with the help of his brother and a few well minded people. As well as going to college and running the bar the boys got from their uncle.

The speed of the story is all over the place. Both Rae and Cole are hiding things from each other. Both want a relationship but can't decided if they want to put in the effort. When a big secret about Cole's father comes to light, Cole tries to run from Rae. Problem is? Rae is closer to the secret than she knows.

The story is split between two books, which is kinda stupid. This part ends in what can be called a cliffhanger, which is why it only got 1 star from me instead of the 2 stars i was going to give it.

This was a fast paced, could be read in one sitting, dual point of view, quick drama, story.

Violet Lynn hides out at her grandma's in North Carolina over a tragic accident that has Nashville treating her like a Pariah. So she goes by Rae, which is part of her name, and changes her look. There she meets Cole. He's a real bad boy who likes to get in to fights, gets arrested a lot, runs a bar with his brother, cusses a lot, takes care of his sister, and has really horrible parents. Life has not been kind to him and after all of this, he's trying to earn a college degree. He's got the weight of the world on his shoulders and he's only 22-years-old.

At first these two hide their dirty secrets from one another until slowly they let their walls down and show their true selves. By this time, they have fallen in love with each other. Now if he can keep on to Rae, his sister, his bar and keep his life from falling apart, all will go well.

Will Nashville come calling for her? Will her parents try and warn him off and take her back? Will his secrets ruin what they have together?

Stay tuned for book two to see their story continue...

I did like the added little twist at the end.

I just have to comment that
1. I wish these two would have talked a bit more to each other at times. They would react first and think later. Mainly Cole.
2. I felt the story needed a bit more fleshing out and more character development at times too.
3. Basically, I thought the story line was a great idea however, I felt the story needed more depth.
Meh sort of okay read I guess I e obviously read many better than this but I felt cheated because it not a complete story. The ending is a ploy to get you to buy the rest if the series. If a free book is only a preview like this is then say so up front!
Violet rae is a hot young country singer. On the outside she has it made! But on the inside she needs an escape. After a horrific accident that she doesn't want details released about she finds that escape in the form of a remodel and a trip to nanas in North Carolina.

This is where Cole Morgan comes into play. Cole has a brother and a sister that he takes care of because mom is in rehab for the umpteenth time. His dad is a music mogul with a new family and his moms parents take care of the rehab bill. It's up to him to make sure his sister gets to school and has a normal life. So plans go haywire when he meets Rae.

Violet has a secret but finds comfort and understanding in Cole. She confides in him but when feelings get attached they both say some things they regret because they don't know how to go about things. But when they finally get together...it's good!

Violet has to do what she's gotta do in order to keep her secret from getting out but also heal the pain and Cole has to do what he has to do to take care of his family from his drug dependent mother.

I loved this book! I honestly couldn't put it down! Can't wait to read more on this series!!!
And this book just ended without a conclusion to the story. I feel cheated that I'd have to buy another book to get my romance, so I probably won't. If new authors want us to take a risk and try their stories...The should write a COMPLETE STORY.
Violet Lynn is one hot Country Music Star until a horrific car crash that she barely remembers. She leaves town to stay with her grandmother as herself, Violet Rae. She also caught her long term boyfriend and best friend together just before the crash. She does not believe she is wanted anywhere, nor does she believe she deserves happiness for what she did. Cole is trying to hold his family together. His father left to be with his real family and his mother has serious substance abuse issues. Cole and His brother are raising their younger sister, going to college, and running the family bar while trying to pay bills and keep their sister safe. Cole's outlet is pounding people at bar fights and getting in trouble with the law. Violet Rae and Cole should have never met and lived in two different worlds, but their relationship works and sparks fly.

Violet Rae and Cole are super steamy. Both feel they do not deserve happiness for their past mistakes. They also start their relationship in a haze of unknowns, not fully revealing who they are. But that is typical of the start of any relationship, you do not blast a new person with all the dark recesses of your heart. They grow together and becoming stronger as a couple, if outside forces will leave them be. I am frustrated that we did not get an ending and must read the next book to finish their story. I do believe there is more to the crash and what really happened with Violet Rae's ex. I hope that will be in the next book.
This storyline was interesting enough to make me want to read until the ending to see how Cole and Violet Lynn resolve all their angst. Unfortunately the book doesn't end their story. It just stops and if you want to know the ending, buy another book.
