Angel Peak A Virgin River Novel Robyn Carr 9780778327615 Books

While each book is stand alone, the Virgin River series by Robyn Carr is genious at keeping the reader caught up on the neighbors and main characters from prior books in the series and in developing the storyline for the next installment. Just like in real life and in a real town, there is more than one thing going on at a time. If this is not your style of reading, fine, but you are missing out by swearing off prior or future books in this series. That is, of course, your complete prerogative and doesn’t influence my enjoyment of this series (second reading of the entire series...years apart). I, for one, want to live in Virgin River. And the uptight mother, Maureen, from Angel’s Peak, goes through an unexpected transformation in the next book. Hope new readers enjoy the series as much as I do!!

Angel Peak A Virgin River Novel Robyn Carr 9780778327615 Books Reviews

I love all of The Virgin River Novels. I enjoy the way the characters in all the books are connected either relatives or town residents that you have already met, who find love in Virgin River. Virgin River is a small town that begins to grow when Jack Riodan moves to the town and opens a bar and restaurant. Jack has lots of brothers and friends who visit the town and fall in love with it and find love. In this one his brother Sean who is an injured military pilot goes to Virgin River to heal and clear his head. After reading one books I started to seek out and buy all of the series.
Entertaining. Easy to follow stand-alone series. No violence or drag-you-down drama.

This story is focused on relationships and the various scenarios.

Believable characters with distinct personalities. Thought-provoking and snarky dialogue.

I will continually re-read this series.
Oh my gosh! I love this series. I stumbled upon Robyn Carr's Virgin River series. How delightful! I love all the characters; how they all somehow fall in love and have babies. I love it! it is my fantasy come true!

I love the series so much that I have purchased all of the books to read the entire series. It is a great fantasy to take one away from home!

There are so many couples in the dynamic of the series; Robyn Carr spins this series in a masterful envision! She is great and writes a very good story.

Each story in the series as I am reading through them is as good as the last one.

Sit back, enjoy the ride in this series!
I am a reader of thrillers the more gruesome the better and would never attempt a book of this nature. I also own a second hand book shop and have my choice of over 3000 books to read...changing daily.
The 2nd Virgin River book came in, I started to browse it and I was hooked. I bought the rest of the series for my iPad and I'm up to 11.
Robyn Carr is amazing, you feel an affinity with all her characters. It's like you are in the middle of an ever expanding family. The books are very modern but without having to resort to the modern trend of swearing and violence.
This book was just as good as the rest and I'm dreading getting to no. 16.
Very highly recommended. Note it is nice but not necessary to read in order.
Sadly I was a bit mystified by this book. It was basically a couple of novellas shoved together. Sean’s rather generic story was resolved by half way through the book, then apart from a brief appearance at the end they were ignored after that. The next novella was about George and Maureen which was alright but not that interesting to me. It was nice to see a bit of one of the more exciting couples from Virgin River – Noah and the delightful Ellie, but the rest of this book was a complete fizzer. The only character who made it worthwhile was the utterly delightful Wide Iwish Rose, but a book’s success shouldn’t really hinge on a 3 year old….
In the Robyn Carr romantic series, the reader is introduced to members of two families - the Sheridans and the Riordans as well as some individuals who help to revive Virgin River. Their stories are always sweet, thrilling, and entertaining.

In this novel, the reader is introduced to another of the five Riordan brothers, Sean and their mother, Maureen and we continue the story of Ellie and Noah, whom we met in the book, FORBIDDEN FALLS. The revival of the relationship between Sean and Franci, his former lover, and the introduction of Sean to a daughter he knew nothing about is the primary focus of the book. It is heartwarming and I never cease to be amazed at the knowledge the author exhibits of the military and the mind of a warrior. In addition, the reader is led to discover the joy and possibility of elder love as demonstrated by Maureen and George. When you consider that Maureen Riordan is a staunch Catholic and George is a Presbyterian minister, the road to love is even more invigorating.

As a reader, I was so sorry to see this series come to an end. However, the books can be reread to relive the joy of romance and this is certainly one of those which merits a second visit.
So boring! The first and last book I’ll read by this author. Sean and Franci’s story is unbelievable and could have been told in about 100 pages. The entire book is more about other characters and their stories and nothing I read made me want to read previous or future books in this series. Most of the revolves around Sean’s prude of a mother. I didn’t find her endearing at all and while I’m 45 and dealing with menopause I just didn’t need to hear (I listened to most of this book on Audible) an entire conversation about 60 something year old sex, vaginal dryness and potential ED. As for the little bit we got on Sean and Franci’s, it was rushed and not really believable. Sean didn’t want kids, finds out he has a kid and is immediately ecstatic. Franci and Sean immediately jump into bed together before she even tells him he has a kid, they immediately tell Rosie Sean is her dad and then everything is great. Don’t waste your money! I think the narrator for Audible did a bad job as well. Annoying pauses, irritating voices and didn’t use the right inflection.
